Aerification Recovery Process & Bunker Rakes

I thought it might be helpful to those of you playing in the next few days to give you a rough schedule of how the aerification recovery should proceed.

This (Friday) afternoon we will be mowing the greens with a triplex.  The first two or three mowings after aerification are very hard on the reels of the mowers.  The large amount of sand put down after aerification dulls the reels very quickly. Because of this the quality of cut can be somewhat poor on the first couple of mowings.  After tomorrow we are expecting to mow the greens again on Monday or Tuesday.  In the meantime we will roll the greens both days during the weekend.  By this time next week, the greens should be in outstanding condition.

Our new bunker rakes have received their second coat of finish and should make their debut on the course sometime next week.

Please note an addition to the blog.  In the right hand column I have added an area, which lists scheduled maintenance practices.  Our next schedule maintenance will be aerification of the tees on Monday.
